You think Auckland rail is dumb dude. thats nothing, down here in Christchurch our Mayor says we can introduce "light" rail to get to Rangiora and Kaiapoi, and back. . Now I hardly want to say this but the total population of Rangiora is about 12,000, and same with Kaiapoi.Never mind the numbers dude, it gets worser when you consider that there is no natural corridor in Christchurch.Parker he says we use that old Tranz rail, I mean kiwi rail track, and like they can drop off somewhere down in Hornby or tower junction and then catch them buses which our friends in the Regional Council; have ready, and then after that, well you get your umbrella out and keep walking, apparently the whole journey will only take about two and a half hours each way, and if you remember where your wife and family lives when you get to Kaiapoi, [and God forbid a wife and family in Kaiapoi ], well you can turn right around and start your way back to work.

A few weeks ago I left my Blackberry on a bus and it was never handed in. So I had to get a new one. When I reported the fact it was gone to the Police, they asked me if I had password protected it, and I had to admit I had not, as it is such a pain to stick in passwords all the time when I use it so much.
But I figured they had a point so a few days ago I stuck a password onto it. And all working okay. If left unattended for half an hour it would prompt for the password, and I enter it and all okay.
But then today I went to synchronise it with my laptop. And both the Blackberry and laptop asked for a password. The Blackberry accepted it, but the laptop did not. I tried it four times and it just would not be accepted.
Knowing bad things happen if you try for a fifth time, I disconnected the Blackberry from the laptop. But then the Blackberry still demanded a password. Not wanting to risk it, I turned it off. Turn back on and it still asks for the password and warns it is on attempt five of five, and will wipe the Blackberry if unsucessful.
Rather than risk that I remove the battery and then stick it back a few minutes later. Damn - again it says it is on go 5 of five and warns the password is needed and if incorrect it will format the Blackberry and delete all data.
So very carefully I enter the password. I am 100% sure it is the password. But somehow it now thinks something else is the password and the neighbours hear my screams of rage as the Blackberry comes up with 5% deleted and happily carries on.
I now have a Blackberry which needs me to reformat everything from scratch. Seriously not happy.
UPDATE: Fuck fuck fuck fuck. The stupid fucking thing has managed to delete my entire Outlook address book. Every phone number and e-mail address has been deleted. This is highly unamusing.I want a gun and someone to aim it at.
If you are someone whom I normally phone, send me a text with your name so I can start the painful job of rebuilding the directory. I do have a backup but it is not that up to date. Also an e-mail could be useful too.Tags: Blackberry, DPF

I feel like sending Farrar some cake and scones to help deal with all this.Until now I assumed he was a genius at everything and nothing could ever go wrong in his life.Passwords are a curse completely, and I threaten computer technicians, you put a password on that thing and I won’t be back, and being a moron of course I would be happy if anyone was intersested enough to tap into my work.I have three external hard drives for back up of films and I trust not one of them, or Windows, or Vista,or Computers in any form,so I have another three in the garage and recycle them every few months,Wouldn’t it be good if farrar’s old Blackberry turned up, but alas it was sold down the road for a joint,

I have been in Spain, recently, searching for my greatest grandfather,
and he does exist they said , but only as Statue in the Spanish Square.
This was a disappointment to me of course so I didn't believe it , and by luck I just happened to catch a photo of Don on his horse leaving Mayor Plaza Madrid, but some people say the photograph is a fake .
Things have changed since Cervantes 16th and early 17th century of course. since then the inquisition is gone, Napoleon came and went also the civil war crucified the nation,
Franco came along as dictator and stayed till he died in the seventies, then back to a parliament and King again, and now they they have become a tourist country.
The main thing is to eat a lot of ham, meat, cheese and fish starting at lunch time with drinks and continuing through the day , well I wasn't so sure the Spaniards really liked us, but who would like endless buses of relatively old tourists

Honestly the country side in Castille where Quixote hung out is quite boring. There are three hundred million olive trees there.

Portugal was more fun, if you think of going to Spain, include Portugal.

Jeanette’s credentials for the Spanish Gold span over some years, the specific commendations are : Tenacity and Courage

Until now I have been unable to recognise Jeanette because the rednecks would not allow me to award the medallion to anyone in the Green party.However common sense has finally prevailed and I do hereby award Jeanette the medal.

The medallion will have the effect of imparting even greater Courage and Strength to the awardee.

Tumeke’s graphic artist and Pictorialist is the best .... Some of the pictures are frightening, some are funny but always they have tremendous wallop. It is with pleasure that we award the Spanish Gold for this [ to me ] unknown genius.

Specific commendation is Savagery and Perspicacity.

Perspicacity is a new word we found in the dictionary last night ... The medallion will impart strength, and clarity more to the Artists work.
